An 17ú Comhdháil de chuid Chumann na Taighde Ealaíonta (SAR)

The official opening of the 2026 Forum on Artistic Research will take place in the afternoon of 23 June following several parallel internal meetings. The opening ceremony will be followed by the official launch of the Institute for Creativity and a reception. The evening program features 'Aniar Aneas, Aniar Aduaidh' which brings together leading Irish-language artists from all of the major Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking regions) of Ireland for the opening performance of SAR 2026.

On 24 and 25 June, the programme will feature roundtable discussions, project presentations, workshops, performances, and experimental formats. On the evening of the 24th the official networking dinner takes place in the Galway Bay Hotel.

In the morning of 26 June, the SAR General Assembly will be held. Forum participants who are not SAR members and will not be attending the GA may join field trips to the west of Ireland.

Current status

Contributions to the programme have been selected from the nearly 400 submissions in response to the Call for Contributions. Project presentations have been peer-reviewed by internationally renowned experts. The peer review process has concluded end of April. A still preliminary version of the programme is available online.

Slightly extended deadline for submissions

The 2026 Forum on Artistic Research website has been inaccessible for several hours on Friday night and Saturday morning. Unfortunately, an update to the web server was scheduled to take place, which automatically activated maintenance mode and prevented any work on the submissions during the night and the next morning. We have therefore decided to slightly extend the deadline for submissions to Monday 2 March 2026 at 23:59 GMT. Feel free to work on your proposals until then.
